O'Byrne's Pub

Traditional pub perfect for a sit down by the river or a quiet evening out

featured in Bars & Clubs Updated

O'Byrne's is a small bar, selling some fine Irish malt whiskeys.

Although originally the owner was Irish, the bar is now run by the French owners of the Hotel Vallée Blanche next door.

The bar is definitely relaxed compared to most others in town - it's unlikely to get rowdy - with occasional live music, mainly jazz and blues. Typically the place is enjoyed by a slightly older clientele wanting a centre of town location to spend a while with friends.

During the warmer months there is an outside terrace just by the riverside - one of the few locations in town which does. This is a pleasant spot to take in a few drinks and discuss the day's activities. The outside area is best during the daytime as later on in the evenings, unless it has been really warm, the river cools things down a bit.

(In case you have been before, the bar no longer serves food at lunchtime).
