British Snowboarder Dies After Accident in Chamonix
Emily Watts dies 5 days on from injuries sustained at Grands Montets
It is with much sadness that we report that 26 year old British snowboarder Emily Watts has died from the injuries she suffered in a horrific accident last weekend at the Grands Montets, Chamonix.
Miss Watts who had just moved to the Chamonix valley had been riding on the side of the piste when she caught an edge and was 'catapaulted into a 70cm pile of powder'. She reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest while rescuers tried to reach her at the top of the Pierre a Ric piste.
Reports yesterday suggested that Emily was unlikely to recover from the injuries she sustained in the tragic accident and sadly she passed away earlier today in hospital in Annecy.
Our thoughts remain with her family and friends.
