Fatal fall on the Tour Ronde, Mont Blanc Massif

53 year old dies on the ascension of the Tour Ronde at 3792 metres

The 53 year old woman was ascending the Tour Ronde, on the Southern edge of the Vallée Blanche, with her climbing partner when she fell. The incident caused both of the climbers to fall, seriously injuring the man and killing the woman.

The two climbers from the Alpes-Maritimes were roped together and making their way up the mixed climbing route of the Tour Ronde on Sunday, the accident happened at 8:30am.
The second victim, aged 46, was taken to hospital in Sallanches by helicopter.
