Patagonia Re-Open Chamonix Store
First Patagonia Store in Europe Undergoes Refit
Patagonia, the North American outdoor gear and apparel company, have officially announced the re-opening of their store in Chamonix.
The store - which was originally opened by Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard in 1987 - has recently undergone a re-fit and now includes a new basement retail space, an outdoor courtyard, and features Chamonix's own Idris Skis in the window display. Idris Skis are based in Servoz and are handmade using renewable and recyclable materials.
The store is to be the venue for a host of year round events and local environmental groups will also be encouraged to make use of the space. Climber and local artist Andy Parkin has played a part in the design of the cashdesk and all the furniture in the store is second hand.
