**UPDATED** Clint Eastwood films scenes for his forthcoming movie in Chamonix
Everyone is talking about Clint Eastwood being in Chamonix yesterday and it seems the day of filming went well. In the end, two scenes were filmed in the former Belle Epoque hotel in Le Planet (it's the impressive big white building that is now apartments that overlooks Argentiere). The building was transformed into a Swiss hospice for the day, with many locals acting as extras.
The man himself was staying at the Hotel Albert 1er in Chamonix town centre and when asked how he was finding Chamonix, the Oscar-winning director apparently replied : "I love Chamonix"!

It's been hush hush since multi-award winning actor and director Clint Eastwood came out to Chamonix in the summer to check out suitable locations, but now it seems the man who won a Best Picture Oscar for Million Dollar Baby has arrived in Chamonix for a day of filming on his new movie 'Hereafter'.
The film, which has a screenplay written by Brit Peter Morgan, is described as a supernatural thriller in a Sixth Sense style, which stars Matt Damon, Cecile de France and Thierry Neuvic. Rumour has it that the plot follows three linked stories based in Paris, London and Hawaii and yes, apparently Matt Damon does see dead people.
The Dirty Harry star was in Lyon this weekend with his family as guest of honour at the Lyon Film Festival, where he was presented with a laureat Lumiere award. He was also spotted watching the Premier League football match between Olympic Lyonnais and Sochaux over the weekend, before heading up to Chamonix.
Sadly, our spies tell us that Matt Damon, who is also the star of Eastwood's latest film Invictus which is due out at the end of the year, is not needed for the couple of scenes being shot at a secret location in Chamonix as we type. However, a good few locals will hopefully be starring in the film as extras, as a casting was held in Chamonix at the Hotel Morgane on the 5th October. If you're one of those extras get in touch with us here at Chamonetand tell us what it's like to work for a cinema legend!
Another rather fine spot to add to the Chamonix Celeb files!
