2011 Marathon Du Mont Blanc highlights
The Marathon du Mont Blanc took place in Chamonix last weekend and thankfully the skies cleared in time for all the runners.
The main event, the 42km Marathon was won by Nicolas Pianet in a time of 3.56.42. The first place women's runner was Stephanie Jimanez who crossed the finish line at Plan Praz in 4.39.36.Congratulations to all the competitors especially www.chamonet.com's own Alison Shayler and Matt Heim.The week ahead looks much quieter with no big events but as the weather is clearing and the lifts are all open we are fully into the summer season here in Chamonix.
