Chamonix Video Report: 27th November 2008

The temperatures have really dropped in Chamonix and it is very cold, but that is preserving all the snow that fell last weekend. There is snow all over the resort and with the lifts opening this weekend that can only be a good thing. Clearly James is soooo excited at the prospect that he got a bit muxed ip with his lift names.....!

So to clarify, the Compagnie du Mont Blanc has confirmed the following for the opening of Grands Montets on Saturday :

The Bochard Gondola and Les Marmottons chairlift will be open giving access to the Bochard red, Les Marmottons and Les Coqs blue pistes and the Pierre a Ric home run (red) to the valley floor. That's 1500m of vertical! The top ticket cable car will be opening the following weekend.

Special lift pass rates apply: €24 for an adult 4 hour ticket or €28.50 for the full day. Latest snow depths are 105cm at the top of Bochard (2765m) and 75cm at Lognan (2000m).

So get an early night on Friday and make sure you are there when the lifts open at 8.45 on Saturday morning.
