Mont Blanc Ultra Trail and Rock'n'Ride
August is almost over and the busiest period of the summer is coming to a close but the month is going out in style. This weekend is one of the biggest in the Chamonix summer calendar as the North Face Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc takes place over Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The 166km race has attracted over 2300 competitors who will set off on the Friday afternoon and, depending on fitness, will run for one to two days around the Mont Blanc Massif, passing through Italy and Switzerland before arriving back in Chamonix town centre. Other races taking place this weekend as part of the event include the CCC, a 98km course that passes through Courmeyeur, Champex and Chamonix, and Le Petite Trot à Leon, which covers a massive 220km and climbs 17000m!
This week’s report also has footage from last weekend’s big event the Rock’n’Ride which was a great day out and an awesome party when the sun went down. As ever it’s all happening here in Chamonix!
