Although the busiest month of the summer season is now behind us and town is quieting down there is still plenty going on in Chamonix.
This weekend, in celebration of thirty years of “twinning”, the Garmisch Partenkirchen Musikkapelle will be playing in town. So if wearing lederhosen, playing brass instruments and drinking beer from unreasonably large vessels is your favourite weekend past time then join your German brothers in the centre of town on Friday night and all day Saturday and Sunday.
Alternatively head up to the woods of Les Praz and watch the French VTT championships which will be held there on Saturday and Sunday. Cross country and Trials riders will be there competing in the two disciplines and with Olympic rider Cedric Ravanel there the standard is sure to be high.
