2 Mountaineers dead in Mont Blanc avalanche
The men had been reported missing last Tuesday
Two mountaineers, an Italian and a Slovenian man, were sadly found dead this weekend on the Italian side of Mont Blanc.
The men had apparently left Val Veny in Courmayeur the previous weekend on route for the Eccles bivouac, but when relatives hadn't heard from them by Tuesday, they raised the alarm.
An extensive search was conducted and the men were finally found in a crevasse on the glacier du Brouillard where an avalanche had swept them.
Both men were experienced mountaineers.
Our thoughts are with their family and friends.
