Getting High in Chamonix
2 days of climbing & highline shows in the centre of Chamonix
Today and tomorrow (12th & 13th August) Cham au Sommet comes to town, with a number of famous mountaineers, climbers and high liners demonstrating their prowess in the centre of Chamonix.
Starting today you can watch the highline show, which involves people walking across a taught strap 20 metres off the ground between the tourist office and the town hall building.
There will be film screenings, and a chance for you the public to get involved in slack-lining (much closer to the floor than the high line), to play on the climbing walls or just come along and watch.
Live music and a street art show will keep the entertainment flowing all day long. Take a look at the full programme for more details.
