Heavy snow overnight across the Alps has led to the avalanche risk raising to 3/5 below 2000 metres and 4/5 above.

The large volume of fresh snow falling on older spring snow, is going to be very unstable. The risk is expected to affect all aspects and slopes. Take a look at the daily avalanche bulletin here.

Be prepared if you are heading off piste, and if you're not confident in your off piste abilities, hire a guide, go with a ski school or private instructor and take all the necessary back country equipment.
