T-5 Days Le Tour de France - Finhaut-Emosson
Road closures & public information
With only 5 days left to go until stage 17 of the 2016 Tour de France arrives at the Emosson Dam, more details on road closures and information for spectators has been released.
Stage 17 sees the peleton setting off from Bern in Switzerland and cycling 184.5 km to reach the finish point at the Emosson Dam.
Road closures will take place for 4 hours. The col de Forclaz will be closed in the morning of the 20th July, the exact timings are still to be announced. The road for La Léchère/Finhaut – Emosson will be closed for longer, from Sunday 17th July at 18:00.
Camper vans will not be allowed access due to lack of space on the roads, however two temporary campsites have been created in Finhault and Salvan.
The road between Chamonix and Martigny around the border will also be closed from 06:30 on 20th July. A free shuttle bus service will be in operation from Martigny to Finhault.
The caravan should arrive in the area around 15:40 with the peleton anticipated at around 17:00.
